Frying my GPS by giving it 12v dc when it needs 5v. Had to pay 60% of the original cost to get it fixed.

    1. Not finding this site soon enough to keep me from buying a screen off of EarthLCD for $500 that sucked.
    2. Not paying attention to static grounding and killing the expensive, sucky screen.
    3. Deciding that rather than change the whole install by actually buying a good screen, simply replacing the dead panel for another $145.
    4. Scrapping all of that and buying a Xenarc because the replacement panel died after about 6 months.

Life - at a company Christmas party, printing up fake drink tickets because they were so cheesy they only gave us 4 per person. Distributed them to everyone we could so they couldn't figure out who it was that did it. Two days later, they announced that everyone who attended would have to put in $5 bucks apiece to make up for the shortfall...or they could turn in whoever did it.

That made us real popular so we quick pooled our money together and slipped it under the manager's door that night. Cost me $400 bucks but saved my job!

CarPC - Choosing to use an aftermarket amp because I have no clue if the stock one is working.

    Life w/computers - Deciding to do a watercooling experiment for my science project. Cost me a geForce Ti4200 128meg, then $20 for a POS ATI 9200 64meg, and then $40 for a FX5200 128meg.

    Life - Backing into my friend's car - $564.30.

Life... buying a xsara picasso at a stupid price from a stupid stealership and then getting rid of it because it wasnt worth the money i paid and i wanted to stop payin for repairs on the mo-fugger

Havnt started on the Car-PC yet, still collecting but PC wise... the most expensive thing ive done was to disable the fans and remove the heatsink while i was trying something out... forgetting to put it all back and running the PC non-stop as a server for 2 months.... things started melting on the M/B and the CPU gave up the ghost

    Oooops

Heh, I tried the same, not for science project though, just to do. Built a water-block out of some PVC and blah blah, worked ok for a while, but sprung a leak and now all is gone...
Water cooled my carPC for a while, then chickened out, don't want to end up like you bud...
