I know it's humor, I only post this because of all the people saying it's 'true'. I know they probably meant true as in 'I can totally relate to that', but it's not actually something that happened.
Plus, 1997 is 'recently' only in geological terms, that's how long this has been making the rounds.

Well, it's interesting that that is the gist of it, especially in light of the fact that the Navy has mandated that all of its boomers (nuclear-launching submarines) run Linux as their base OS INSTEAD of the Windows versions they were using. Can you imagine the fallout (pun intended) if there was a possible launch condition, and then the damned sub's computers crashed just as they would have received an abort launch order?Quote:
