Does that mean Americans should be allowed to vote on the all other countries leaders?? True that America's decisions frequently effect the world, but at the end of the day, it's American's that have to live in America.

You do realize that there were Senate and Representative Elections
as well as issues from your state on the ballot as well.

I'm insanely happy that so many people voted this year... It really is every citizens duty to vote. But it is so very sad that so few people understand that it is also their duty to take the time to actually understand the issues of the campaign as well. When you look at the big picture, Iraq was such a minor issue with this presidency, regardless of whether you agree with it or not, but it was the only thing that both campaigns felt voters could understand... And that is sad.

I'm elitist, but I don't think a system that lets someone that doesn't understand the issues DECIDE the issues is the correct one. Let them answer some multiple choice: What is the Kyoto Protocol? What is a stem cell? Which of these tax increases did both Bush and Kerry veto? etc... We've got these electronic voting machines, let them earn their way.

By the way, I'm a programmer, and when I was confronted with e-voting machines in my county, I asked for a paper ballot. Hope you guys did the same.
