client side scripting is probably like php/asp or such.. i think thats the easiest.
I passed the intro to programming class by the skin of my teeth about 3 years ago and i'm going back to school this spring to finish my second degree. I have to take another programming class. Which one is gonna be easiest for a guy that knows NOTHING about programming except HTML and some Java. Keep in mind the only thing i remember from the first programing class i took is the shapes (lol pitiful i know)
VB.NET
JAVA
C(++)
Visual C++
Client side scripting (whatever the hell that is)
Also keep in mind that i'll be taking this class at home and its quite possible that some of you may end up doin my homework. Thanks guys
client side scripting is probably like php/asp or such.. i think thats the easiest.

client side scriptting is glorified web development, if it was me i'd pick C, so you don't learn bad habits from the others =P

Delphi is very easy to learn. I am a self-taught programmer in delphi 7... it gets easier over time
Delphi is based on Pascal.
is this a course to learn the language or to learn how to program?
I would go w/ C++ or Java, they both have about the same learning curve,
Since this course is online, why dont you send us the link to it so we can make a better call
amd 1700, biostar m7ncg 400, hitachi deskstar 120 8mb , 512 pc2700, liliput 7"
now to put it all together
Start with Java. This is how most computer science majors start off with. it'll teach you good habits. C++ is very similar to Java-- you can pick it up pretty easily after you learn intro java. visual C++ is microsoft's implentation of C++ for windows.... start with regular C++ or java. visualbasic is object orientated too, but you can get the concepts better if you start with java.
client side scripting such as javascript can be as complex as any java program, but again, i think it's a good idea to get a solid foundation in java or C++ first. if you want more hardcore, than start with C++.
So you would choose the language that lets you do the most damage,Originally Posted by Vorex

IMO C is the best to learn first, imo it doesn't have the worst habbits given his other choices, again it's the best one IMOOriginally Posted by frodobaggins
