The police report has all that info, so it's no biggie.. The guy has State Farm.

Edit: I didn't talk to the guy at the scene. There was too big of a temptation to run his head through any available large piece of glass.

So it's been a while, it's Friday night and I'm sitting home bored, so I figure I might as well revive this thread.

Lengthy Post Warning: Make sure you are stocked up on cigarettes/water/sustinence before proceeding to read

Insurance-wise everything worked out and the other guy's insurance took full responsibilty for the accident. The insurance estimate came out to be $3,855, which is approximately how much the body shop said the replacement/repair would come out to.

After I go the check this week, I dropped the Stang off to the bodyshop on Wednesday morning, and his insurance is covering my rental as well. So I'm currently driving an 05 Altima 2.5s and loathing having to listen to AM/FM. Other than that I guess the car is ok.......... except for the fact that IT'S NOT A MUSTANG!! lol I was kinda hoping that they'd at least put me in a Mustang convertible.

Funny thing is, as I'm driving, I'm looking at the dash to figure out how I can mount the Xenarc.... freakin carputer addiction... lmao Maybe I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Anyway, I've heard from a couple of people that the bodyshop is excellent, so I'm hoping for the best. Funny thing is it's right by the train station, so I swing by every chance I get to see if I can catch a glimpse of my car.. other than stalking my car I'm really not OC, I swear!

While it's in the body shop I figure I'll get some other stuff done as well, like have the mirrors painted to match the body color, and have the holes in the trunk filled since I removed the spoiler.

And as if that's not enough, I ordered some louvers (see pic) that should arrive toward the end of next week, to coincide with me getting the car back. =) Lots of Mustang peeps don't like the louvers, but I really think they make the car look "faster" aside from keeping some of the sun out. I may have to figure out alternate locations for XM and GPS antennae if the aluminum from the louvers interferes with their reception. I guess there's only one way to find out.

So hopefully by the end of next week I should be a happy camper if I have my ride back, and if the bodyshop make good on their promise that the repair will be unnoticable, factory-looking.

Another update, this time a quick one with a couple of pictures.

So I stopped by the shop again, in the hope that the door and quarter panel would finally be in... and they were! Holy ****! I couldn't believe it. So today is day 21 of my car being in the shop, and finally making some progress!

It's about frickin time the parts became available.

The bodyshop welded the new quarter panel in, and mounted the door. The rear bumper and rear window are removed, side-view mirrors are removed for painting, as is the trunk lid, which also had the spoiler holes filled. Oh yeah, and the inside of the car is all torn up as well.
