Sport Compact = Compact sports car.
So your saying all the FWD racecars are not sports cars
sports car

sports car

Not 100% true. You can make a good handling front wheel drive car - it's jsut difficult. The big problem is getting the power down. Hot hatches in Europe are now up to 240bhp or summit (alpha 147 as an example) and 200bhp was the accepted limit for front wheel drive but it can be overcome to a degree with clever engineering and a bit of black magic.Originally Posted by 0l33l
Super cars in the old days only had 280bhp. And we are not talking supercar here just sports car. If, heaven forbid, anyone did make a front wheel drive sports car and they did it right it would most likely be just as good to your average joe as a rear wheel drive only probably safer for them.
Front wheel drive is never gonna be as good to really throw around etc but how often do a lot of the muppets who can afford nice cars but buy em cos they look nice use them to their full potential?
Proof that the Probe is a SPORTS CAR
There is a book called The Sports Car Album By Lifetime Distributors, 1994
Quote from the book:
And some of the cars in the book:this book takes a beautifully illustrated tour through all the important sportscars with over 400 Pictures and an authoritative text.

it's not a SPORTS car! simple as that!
I never said that a FWD car can't be sporty, nor did I ever say that a FWD car can't be a sports car.....to the contrary....hello!! I drive a fuggin VW GTi! I'm not a FWD basher, or an import basher by any means!
I have a hard time taking the true sense of the words "sports car" and putting it with a Probe......be it anal or car.....still just can't make the connection
