I currenty use a Hakko 937 / 937-5 ESD Safe Soldering Station. It is a bit pricey, but the wonderful ex had bought it as a gift. I also use a Weller WES51. Both are great.
Well i'm tired of damn cheap soldering irons, and i've started to look at soldering stations. Anyone have one that they use, like and would recommend?

Metcal. Damn pricey, but very nice. By far the best I've used.
yeah I was looking at the metcal, they are very very pricey but seem to be very full featured

I've been working on Weller stations for the past 6 months, and unless you manage to break off the soldering tip, these are rather nice.
both my current place on employment, and my previous one use Hakko... I'm sure if people in the electronics assembly use these were they are on 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, it has to say something for them.
My first experience with Hakko was under those circumstances working with SMT operationsOriginally Posted by never_stock

I have a Weller myself. Don't know if they are available worldwide.
Not the most cheap units, but they are worth it (about $220 I guess). I have 2 of them, my old one got broken (heat switch didn't work anymore), but I found some spareparts so it's now working again, now I have 2 of them.
