God, this is like watching a train wreck.

No matter how much you want it, you cannot afford this car. You can try and convince yourself as much as you want, but it's not going to change anything. I think that subconciously you know this, and that's why you haven't asked your parents about it. What's your girl think? Does she know that you're going to effectively be spending twice as much on your car (with ins) as you are on your apartment?

I think the major problem here is that you think that the car is going to be your ONLY expense. We are not by any means suggesting that you pay $120,000 for a $35,000 car, or that you need to make that much to buy that car. You have never lived on your own (as far as we know), so you haven't experienced the little expenses that sneak up on you every month. These things add up quick and are the reason you need to have a much bigger cushion than you think you have.

You asked our opinion, and mine and Scouse's is that you CANNOT AFFORD THIS CAR. I'm sorry if you don't like that, but that's the way it is.

Another thing, are you gonna have to get a co-signer? Finance companies require a co-signer when they feel there is a high probablity that the buyer cannot afford the vehicle. That should be a HUGE SIGN!

Wizard, I have lived on my own. I used to own a house in Peoria AZ. But I moved back home because of a career oportunity. And I don't need a co signer for anything. I have a credit score of 720.... My fiance knows and she's all for it.

I seriously dont know how you can think I can't afford this car, I can afford it EASILY. If I dont get an apartment I can afford two Evo8's, and Insurance on both. I'm not a stupid kig guys, just because I'm 20 doesn't mean jack ****. I owned my own home at 17 years old!!!!!!! I changed my life for career oportunities. And its about to pay off, Instead of me working at a dead end job like 75% of the worlds population does, stuck at 10 an hour for the rest of my life, I'm starting a career at 12 an hour, and I get raises every 6 months depending on performance. Me and my fiance aren't expensive to live.

I seriously dont understand it....We can easily live with 500 a month that we can use for whatever we want.

This was a mistake posting this thread. I thought I would have found some people to talk to, instead everyone is trying to talk me out of something I can easily have.

I just got the monthly payment of the used 04. Its 477 a month.

I dont trust what abuse people have put cars through. I bought a 03 WRX 6 months ago, and then found out as some things started having problems, the previous owner abused the **** out of it.

And the 04 thats in the show room is a special edition one. All the used ones I find aren't nearly as nice as it or the wrong color....Which will mean I'll have to save up money to fix it up.

A used car is always a tradeoff. I wanted a black on tan, i got a red on black car.

What differentiates a good car from a not so good car is how it handles abuse. Currently, my car is doing fine

Also: you might not just look for local cars. There's a ****load of them for sale in Cali.

Ooops.. I forgot to mention that the ones for 18g are not evolutions. DOH!

Oh, and what's so special edition about the one in the showroom? Aren't all 05's gonna be like the 04' MRs?

No...the 04 was the last year of the Evo that came with HID's, and Leather Recaro Interior. The MR's start in 05 and they are 40grand+. June the 06 Lancer Evolution is being released...but it looks identical to the regular lancer which is ugly.

Weather or not I get the one thats on the showroom floor, I'm getting a Evo. There's a silver 04 thats identical to the one I want for 30grand...I just can't contact the guy to find out if it has HID's...I dont really care if it has leather, thats a +...but I definatly want the 8500k HID's and all the extra ****. There's also a yellow 03 for 26grand... But I hear that the 03 has a tranny problem.

There's a nice White RS that this dealer has that the owner put like a 6grand Kenwood high end sound system and some aftermarket wing...but it doesn't have any of the power options which I need/want. And they are gonna sell it for 28k.

Can't you just get an HID kit? Salvage some from a wrecked Evo

Wrecked Evo? HAHAHA, Thats funny. Goodluck finding one. And anyways, this guy wont answer his phone, its instant answering machine and he hasn't responded yet, on that 30k used Evo.
