I'm not suprised. Some of the older (Non-Z) Nissans are slllllllllllow. I am sad to hear it though. One of these days I am going to destroy every Metro on the planet, and then every Civic Hatchback.

the problem with my car is that... well, let me start that over. I live in redneck country. and rednecks coupled with cars, that's a bad thing. I bought my pulsar from one of these unibody rednecks. I didnt think much of it at the time, but soon realized that i had been raped over.

I bought it with a blown clutch, so there wasnt really a test drive. Get it home, put a clutch in that biotch, and it runs good for a month. then it starts to over heat. the radiator was cracked. replaced it, still overheated. the hoses were cracked. replaced it, still over heated. put a lower thermostat in the car. still overheated. put a new water pump in the car, still overheated.

finally, we pull the head to replace the head gasket, and find out that not only is the gasket cracked slightly, but the head has big *** cracks (we're talking plumber crack here people) between the cylinders.

and it was then that we realized the real reason for the nissan's lack of power: a stamp on the block that read e15. the e15 engine is a datsun motor, 1.5 liters making 42 hp. this was coupled to the fact that it had a badly tuned tbi-style system. The original engine, a CA18DE, made at least 150 hp.

and to add insult to injury, the car was shipped from the factory with a five speed, and the rednecks changed it to a 4 spd (along with the engine) when they killed both of the originals.

btw, a geo metro has 55hp in a much lighter car.

and also, had we been racing in reverse, i probably woulda had 'em, the reverse ratio on my 4spd is in the 6.xx range...
