Lots o drama in the last week, here's a recap:
Girl I used to date decided to marry an alcoholic coke head. He od'd about 10 days ago and was arrested for felony possession of cocaine. She left him, and he was arrested again for flight to evade prosecution (I assume) because he was heading out of state at 95MPH
We moved her stuff out on Saturday. His family came in from New Mexico on Sunday. His sister just contacted the girl and told her that if her freind didn't stop telling people about his arrest then they were going to sue him (the freind) and her, and tell everyone that he is a sex offender (which he is not).
"Truth is an ultimate defense to slander and libel" is what my college law book says. The freind can tell as many people as he wants something that is already public record, but now he has to get a lawyer to shut these people up.
In turn, now I have to get a lawyer because I am the next logical target of the ex fiance's family.
The District Attorney has already been contacted and he's ****ed, because this girl is the chief witness in his possession case, so the family has now engaged in witness tampering.
