    Advice Needed on a Sale

    I sold an In Dash Lilly IH001 back on these forums a couple of months ago, I decided to go back to a flush mount. Well I made the mistake of selling to someone overseas. I took the package to my local UPS store on Jan 11, 2005 (I am a regular there so just pack and everything for free I just pay the bill) and they shipped it out US AirMail, not sure why but there was no tracking number only the insurance number. Well a month and a half later they guy still hasn't recieved the package. I filled out a form 542 so they can track down the package and fix this problem. But now I am getting emails from this person that he wants to take legal action or his money back. I don't want to give him his money back because I dont want to be out a screen and $225. UPS says that they can't give him his insurance money until the 90 day mark. Anybody have any advice? Sorry about the sentence fragments and bad grammer, too early and had too much to drink last night. Thanks in advance.

    BTW, the package was shipped to France.

    So Mar. 11th (or there abouts) will be the 90 day mark, right? Tell the buyer that you apologize for the shipping mistake, but that it is the fault of the company and not yours. He just needs to wait until he can collect on the insurance money.
    Besides, he's not going to go through all the trouble of taking legal action against you. That would probably take longer to even start something then just waiting for the insurance money.
    And, he's French. Just tell him that you will take legal action against him and he will run away!

    LMAO, thats messed up. Thing is that the 90 day mark is April 11th. This is the last time I ship overseas, too much damn hassle. First time I ever had any trouble with a transaction (and I do a lot of them).

    how did they pay you? Since you fulfiled the order by shipping it out you are not responsible for refunding him. He needs to make the claim to the carier for the insurance money.

    They wont pay for the insurance until it has been "missing" for 90 days. I guess I really shouldnt worry about it, kinda out of my hands. First time something like this has ever happened.
