What a bunch of friggen idiots:
Payroll screwed up at least 2 dozen people's checks. The first 2 people that called, payroll told them that it was the employee's fault. After about the 15th person called they finally got the picture. They are Fedexing a 40hr check to me that will be here in the morning.
So apparently there's this new policy where they send us our paystubs to the office via Fedex. My paystub lists my old address, which I had asked payroll to change...oh...3 weeks ago when I got the first paystub. It's listed in Oracle correctly, but apparently payroll is on a different employee database for some reason. So by the time I get my paystub and discover there is going to be a problem, they've left for the day.
So I call Fedex to have them change the ship-to address, and they can't help me because I don't have the tracking number. In fact, they can't/won't even tell me if there is a scheduled delivery to either address unless I have the tracking number. If I could have gotten ahold of someone to get the stupid tracking number, I could have gotten them to change the address.
:Sigh:
So tomorrow, I get to don my kevlar and sit in the parking lot of my old apartment until the fedex guy shows up. I would have been perfectly happy if they had waited until Monday to ship us the checks since mine is going to still be screwed up anyway. My luck--they will use the Oracle address and I STILL won't get my check, because I'll be on the other goram side of town waiting.

Hey man. Great story. I read the OP and all the first page, but not the other 16 pages lol

Here's the deal:
I just signed a lease for a house--got the keys today, actually. There was a huge deposit, and I need to buy a washer/dryer (used, from craigslist). First month bills will include all the hookup charges, etc.
I'm not skipping this month, I just don't yet know a safe amount to pay.
Stay tuned....

Apparently the drugs I have been taking for the wicked illness I had over the weekend were affecting me more than I thought. I aint gotta pay all those setup fees for another 6 weeks or so. Still, a much smaller payment than I wouldve liked.
