    A b-52 has 8 engines (complete overkill, BTW)--one of which was out. Aircraft in distress are given priority to land. The guy with one engine was having engine trouble, but the plane with 3 more engines than it needs was given the priority because he actually had an engine out.

    Hence the "dreaded 7 engine approach"
