diy lcd projector; big hunk of junk or work of art?

when you guys get everything all settled you'll have to post some shots of it in action. idk ... in the realm of projectors i think i diy would look too ... i guess crappy would be the easiest way to put it. I have an X1 and I'm a huge fan of it. so prove me wrong so i can actually see some pics of these DIY ones. I don't think I've actually even seen pictures of these, everywhere such as lumenlab doesn't have any because they want to sell the plans.
don't worry i know i usually don't make much sense

Look at page 1 i posted photos of the quick dirty setup i made and some pics of the projected image.

I found that higher resolution video on a standard LCD makes it look crystal clear (dvd or digital tv)

I was thinking of housing it in a squage rectange box over the top of it with a small window that lets it be projected this inturn keeps the unit cool and leeps the light in and it also makes it fit better into the room you have it in.

I was thinking of staining the wood to make it match the table it sits next to with a small plexi opening so it looks great in the room but is functional.

If i had my own house id have a hole in the wall where the unit sits and id have a Mirror in a fram over it which was 2 way mirror so when the projector is turned on it projects but otherwise it just looks like a mirror no1 would know

Or i could have a picture hanging over it and when i start the projector the picture frame slide up to let the projector show on the screen

wow he did a great job. I wonder if they larger screens would be better than the 7" wide screens. Id like to make a small one to mount on the ceiling (seen some large one there but small would be nicer) or put it inside a wall.

The bigger the LCD the bigger the picture

the 7" lcd basiclly gives out a 3foot by 3foot image

so a 10" or a 15" LCD would be best if a 15" can fit on the projector ok then its the best bet as it's cheaper to get a 15" pc monitor which has composite video input as well

i'm going to try it with a lilliput, since I have a screen that the ccfl tube is shot in. It's a perfect canidate

now I have the lilliput taken apart, it's perfect because the panel controller comes off to one side
