you ever used a graphics tablet ?

just wondering if I should buy one. Never used one before, but the expensive ones look like there well over £200. Is it really worth spending that much ? can someone recommend a cheaper one ? any help

    cheers

I use a Wacom tablet like this one http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=464854. They are great for freehand drawing - much better and more intuitive than using a mouse. But I've never used it for design-type work, only graphic stuff like photo-retouching, sketching, etc.

The one listed above is $100 which is only 50 pounds (rough currency conversion). You pay more as the active surface area increases, much like LCD monitors.

Thanks for the offer.. I might just take you up on it. I've been doing alot of searching. and it seems Wacom are the best, but sadly to get a decent one I'm looking at easy over £200.. so I have done some more searching/reading and the one i'm most likely going to get is this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=33045

not bad for 50 quid, ok its not going to be as good as a Wacom, but its should give me a good idea if its going to be used or not. If after using this and I find I like it, then if you wouldnt mind me trying it for a few day, just to see if its worth upgrading to a Wacom that would be great.

    Cheers
