    he is a rugby player. He he is the hooker. He id the guy in the centre of the scrum who gets supported by the props on either side of him in the front row that the other team goes up against. It is his job to get the ball - ie 'hook it' i guess when it is put into the scrum and the team drives him on to try and make sure he gets the ball.

    you have to pretty hard to play that position as you have the strength of about 1 ton of rugby players squashing you so never laugh at a rugby player when they tell you they are the hooker!
