What should I do?

yeah well ive got a good group of friends that have them. Everyone i know has one.
I guess what im really asking is. Is it worth working my *** off for awhile to get one?

If you spend enough time ridding, and really enjoy it, its probably worth it. If its going to collect dust (like mine) then no, its not worth going into debt over. I guess only you can really decide.
