It really ****es me off when people drive round in stupid *** cars that burn that much fuel when they don't need to. it is irresponisble. YOu guys should try having the fuel tax that we have ovr here (80%) maybe then you will buy fuel efficent cars that don't destroy the environment and waste natural resources!

14mpg ont he motorway is obscene. Boris please get that damn car sorted so it burns less ont he motorway! The town mpg i can live with, it is a big car and it is your right to have a big car if you feel you need it (why i don't know)
but 14mpg ont he motorway!!!!! Sort it out and drive more efficent too! The USA really does need to cut down on it's fossil fuel consumption - that is one way it really could make the world a better place instead of destroying countries! END OF RANT
I can justify it easily. Its my car, not yours. Its a sports car. Its not made for some douche bag.

Who determines if how much fuel it is "responsible" to burn? Isn't that just an opinion? I feel that cars should get below 5mpg. That's probably how much I'd get if I was riding on the gas tank, but I have no need to.

Sorry to hear about your socialistic goverment

14mpg isn't [i]that[/b] bad. Considering I was in a traffic jam on the way back. So I'd hit like 50 and then drop down to 5, all the way from the meet. Plus I had 2 other passengers.

That being said, it's irresponsible for everyone to drive cars/trucks/SUVs when bikes get 40-60mpg!
    Exactly!

Welcome to the old toyota car club During the summer I sometimes avergaed 8mpg. That's right after I got the car and felt the need to see what it could do

Boris, how long do you think 2billion barrels of oil will last? http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/oil.html

as it shows the USA has 22 billion (US billion) barrel reserve but at your rate of 20million a day that would last 3 years! you have to admit that brings it home a bit!

and don't even mention 'Kyoto' to me!

My 67 Impala is at least 25% longer than Boris's car.... gets about half that in gas mileage..... but I make up for it by only driving it 2 days a weeek for 5 minutes each....

Besides my Scion averages about 29mpg per tank.

    Impala is fast....
    Scion....not so much...
They both have HUGE interiors though.

COngrats on your MR2, by the way... Check out Silencery's MR2....great install.

Fwaaaaa. Replaced the Air Flow Meter thingamajiggie. Took a few minutes of idling for the ECU to get used to it. Took it out to go get gas. Man it was movin'. Still needs more work though. Sometimes when you step on the pedal, it'll hesitate for a second and then totally launch. One time I was leaning pretty far forward and hit the gas, hesitated for a second, and then I was quickly planted in the seat.

Time to see what's next on the list of replacements. AND THAT DAMN OIL LIGHT COMES ON AT IDLE.

But the US Geological Survey estimates the amount of oil that is still to be found at about 3 trillions, three times the oil reserves known today

Yeh, old american cars aren't great for gas mileage

Hahaha.. I remember you had trouble keeping up with the caravan on the freeway in the Scion. People kept getting in front of you... no one takes scion seriously

Silencery has the "new" gen MR2 Spider. lgbr has the older version.

lgbr: So, ddi you reset the ECU?

Thats probably because they have found a way to secretly make oil from the bodies of people from countries that may have WMDs or terrorists!
