I KNOW(what you did last summer!) that you have many informative posts. I just think your reputation in the OT section will kill the good reputation you have in the regular part.

You know, they probably won't even add the Reputation part and we will all look like dumb@sses for even arguing about it.

p.s. I would love it if you would screw me again!!

IDK I am just a dumb newbie. I think I like being a newbie because I can blame my stupidity on it.

    Analysis:

I KNOW(what you did last summer!) = Retarded old movie (not sure why I added it????????)

I just think your reputation in the OT section will kill the good reputation you have in the regular part. = (EDITelete this on account of my stupidity.)

You know, they probably won't even add the Reputation part and we will all look like dumb@sses for even arguing about it. = (True because the mods aren't commenting at all)

p.s. I would love it if you would screw me again!! = (a joke! ha ha ha)

    Did I miss anything?

Damn noobs trying to be clever will never work.

Actually, you will find that in a week there will be a whole new list of threads on page 1 of the OT section and yeah there will be the occasional joke about 'anal' or 'my thread' but the people who know i dont talk **** about technical matters will still know i know what i am talking about, noobs will still be in awe of my knowledge and i will continue to write long detailled answers giving people good advice only to be ignored and not thanked - just like it was last month and the month before that and before that.....

The day you give me a long detailed answer, that helps answer my question, I will be certain to thank you and give you points. I say this with no sarcasim what'so ever.

Maybe if the point system is set up it will be easier for people to show their appreciation and give you some credit.

hmm now you see showing appreciation = effort.

how many times do you click the "how useful was this answer" on manufacturers knowledgebases??

I am not disagreeing or ****ting on your idea. I think it is a good one and i wish someone had thought of it sooner.

The easiest way would simply be a button on the post that the poeple can click to say "that was a good and useful answer"

a possible way to avoid someone etting too much credit and also abuse of the system would be to make it so that only the person who started the thread can click the button.

YOu would probably also want to have it so that someone can only get given goed feedback once per thread but it would be nice if when people continue to help someone this gets recongised. I hate to use myself as an example as there areso many fine example of this out there but i was once helping a guy deign a servo contolled flip up screen and that took many posts to help him out and i even made some animations for him.

(ooo excuse me a minute, penelope cruz jsut got her tits out in 'open your eyes'......)

ahhhh her nipples gave me a moment of inspiration,..

how about when someone gives a very good answer that helps a lot the thread owner can click on the button on the guy/girls answer to say "very good helpful answer" and then later on if they continue to be helpful well beyond normal standards then they can click again. then if need be this can be done a third time so a maximum of 3 points can be obtained in a single thread for when someone has gone to an exceptional amount of trouble.

    How does that sound?

Scouse you are getting pretty technical with it, I am not sure all of it is necessary.

I think the way it should work is members should only get a set amount of points that they can give per month. This way the points have value to the giver.

So lets say you have 10 points to give each month. You are not going to give all 10 points to one person or use them all at once. You want to save some for other people that help you. Maybe the guy with the servo would give you all 10 points because you helped him so much, but then it would actually have meaning that he gave you all of his points.

Many post help hundreds of people, so why should point giving be limited to the starter. Also many posts answer questions that the starter didn't even ask.

    My 2 pennies.
