did you check to make sure you selected the com port in frodo?
and does the antenna have a view of the sky?
Ok, I must be plain stupid. I received my XMD-1000 unit from buy.com y'day and today, i home brewed the cable and connected the XM direct unit to the serial port.
Now, I run frodoplayer and hit XM, but nothing shows up. DO i need a driver for the XM unit. if yes, where can i find it? I have been scratching my head in vain. searched the posts and no one has a problem like this.
I must be really stupid
so, please help.

also try this program, which will test it outside of frodo, to make sure you have something coming in from the XMD
