That'll be the Germans, trying to reserve their seats for next weeks movie. (might not translate well to those across the pond)

I am actually finishing up an English course that we read that book in. Talk about an easy A. I loved the book, I haven't seen the movie though. Having read the book, and knowing that Douglas Adams wrote the movie, I can't wait.

I never read the book, but found the names amusing. For instance, instead of using AIM, I use trillian (www.ceruleanstudios.com). And babelfish, the universal translator. I'm sure you've all seen the babelfish website which translates web pages for you. I think there were others, too.

I haven't seen the film yet but I watched the TV series years ago and read the 5 book trilogy (how wierd is that). Its cult stuff and everyone should read the book/s if they get a chance.

Read the books years ago and I own them all. I saw the movie and I noticed a lot of the people around me who didn't catch onto 99% of the more subtle jokes. For the less hoopy, some things could have been explained better too: why they ended up on a Vogon ship if the Vogons hate hitchhikers, why they turned into sofas, etc.
All in all a good movie adapataion though

I read the book a long time ago, but thought I remembered something about the main character learning how to fly? Anybody remember this? Like you have to be distracted right before you hit the ground or something like that? Eh? eh?

Yeah, I think that's when they fell in love... Didnt they make love in the clouds? But yeah, that was it, you get distracted before you hit the ground.

I plan to see the movie cause the books were so good. I read Mostly Harmless in middle school, but read all 5 in college (couple years ago).
They're so crazy and complex I might just reread before the movie. Anyone think that's a bad idea, cause I cant see why?
