At first when I saw smoke I was like, must be a electric fire, since volkswagens have a bad history with electric.
I think I'm gonna be sick! I'm getting back to life after the honeymoon and just stumbled across that video. And to think, we're considering turbocharging our R32! Definitely time to invest in an extinguisher by the looks of it. I'm guessing he had an oil leak on the turbo...Originally Posted by wizardPC

My first attempt at a carputer.
PM me if you're interested in a monitor faceplate for your '99-'04 Golf or Jetta. My Vortex ID is NorthAtlR32 - you can IM me there, too. Go here for more information.
Thats what I think - it always helps to unhook the batteryAt first when I saw smoke I was like, must be a electric fire, since volkswagens have a bad history with electric.
when there is a fire - if you can safely
Thats damn sad - I would have been crying
After seeing that - I am going to buy a co2 fire extinguisher
and a quick battery disconnect
My dad had a fire like that one time - it was pine needles,
that got caught in the heater core - he used one of them cheap
fire extinguisher with the white powder - it stopped the fire,
but then that White powder ate up all the wires and electric
stuff - My dad said if he had known - he would have let it burn,
that was after a sh_t load of time and money replacing all the stuff
Now every car we own he puts window screen over the air intake
vents
