i'm practicing to have only one wheel go over the bumps, and will move the rocks slightly to have some extra space... i'm thinking about 1.5" lowering would do...

    No comment about the wheels.

    good luck with them
Well, if the wheels vibrate at high speeds it doesn't ALWAYS mean that they are bent. Some people decide to save a few bucks and don't get their tires balanced after they put them on.

you should probably wait to get the tires balanced and realligned until you lower it.

of course this is true, but my thoughts when I see a used set of nice expensive wheels being sold cheap is that there may be a problem there....if someone had a set of wheels that were problematic I would expect that if it was just balancing they would do that, rather than just get rid of them.... I have seen lots & lots of lopro's get bent up here in thepothole capitol of the world.... & have several friends & customers that have ****ed up there wheel's & then dumped them on ebay....I dumped a few sets of bmw wheels myself......& a set of bbs 3 pc.from an audi v8 quattro I had...$3,500 wheels that I sold for $500....told the gut they vibrate at high speed......he didn't care, they looked awsome......to me they were junk.....one acura I know went through three sets of 18's in two years.......

...all I ment was, if they drove out great at speed you know there not bent.....if they did vibrate, then with your fingers crossed try balancing, but odd's are pretty much against that.....sometimes the best to hope for is that it's only one & that a replacement isn't a fourtune.....chromes like this are probably around $300 a piece......

BND, if they drive out fine it would probably be worth buying new centercaps, they should be available....only they may cost as much as you paid for the wheels......still a hell of a deal for these.....that's got to be a $1,600 set of wheels & tires there more or less.....I think they look awsome, it's hard to tell from the pictures, but they don't look terrable without the centercaps....maybe some chrome lugnuts & a little vw emblem over the hub hole & ???? hard to tell from the photo's, is the centercap opening just round & flat or does it contour... if it's just round & flat that increases your chances of being able to find something to work with........

I forgot you lived in NY

We've got some terrible potholes too. But they are VERY rare. Like there's on on my friend's hill. I almost bottomed out on it

also I would modify your mod list as follows, but that's just my opinion...no offence intended....

the mod list to follow is:

    remove pinstripe,tint, lowering, painting calipers...

Ha! almost bottomed out.....that's funny....guess you'd really hate a trip on the BQE.....theres a reason everybody's driving these suv's I guess...the roads here suck....that's why I got factory chrome 17's instead of aftermarket wheels....I find the factory wheels are usually much stronger than most aftermarket wheels...I hit potholes all the time & they survive...so far anyway...
