No oil change for a year. That should teach it.
It always happens never fail
install something nice, wash it, paint it, buy something for it, wax it,
and it will screw with you!!!!
I installed my monitor and carputer as well as second battery and low an behold POOF i bring the van in for inspection and viola my front end suspension is shot. now i need to drop 1,300 for all new parts and labor etc to fix it. The "princess" doesnt like being touched i swear i should just stop trying
does anyone else ever experience this with thier car or is mine the only one that screws me when i try to do right by it
I prefer the 'don't give it any oil at all' method. That usually shuts it up pretty fast. But then again, for some reason I usually end up spending a lot more money on it.Originally Posted by Bugbyte

how did you know. I think there should be a section here warning about the after effects of installing carputers and front end damageOriginally Posted by wizardPC
been there done that when i 1st got it back in 98 i was young and didnt relize it needed oil or that it burned oil so i drove it real fast and blew the engine. then i put in a brand new engine. seems like the right thing to do right? WRONG 2 months later my tranny went cause the engine was too powerful for the onld tranny it ended up snapping it into piecesOriginally Posted by Bugbyte
It's funny you should say that...since my fiance and I have been together, I have had like 5 cars in 6 years (I get bored easily), I am the one who always tries to "upgrade" my car (i.e. replace headlights, synthetic oil, stereos, wheels and I am always the one who seems to be pouring money into them. However, she used to have a POS Corsica and she never had to spend more than $50 to get that thing fixed. [rant over]

Getting my '88 Renault van back after a 1500 $ paint job, I started putting in some nice vinyl (on the floors, like in a house), building all kinds of stuff like a table and bed/seats, only to discover big holes rusted in the bottom of it when lifting the wooden floor!
Let the welding begin!

the conversion treatment - were they add all the fancy
crap - I got it used and thats how it was -
It had not rained in a few weeks - but the van smelled
moldy - I ripped out the carpet - it had acted like a sponge
- I had a few gallons of water under the carpet -
I sanded the rusted metal down and patched the holes, also
painted the floor same color as the van and said screw it,
left it that way - I have had problems like that on a 89 olds also ,
one little hole in the door gasket and your screwed - If I ever get
a new truck - I am going to rip out the carpet and use spray on
truck bed liner the floor - I dont even like carpet in my house now
