    IR Sensor Extender

I am going to mount a dvd player (separate from the carputer) in my car and need to know how to extend the remote eye of the dvd player. i have seen the little things you stick onto the dvd player so you can point the remote at the screen in home theater setups. The only thing I can find (i'm obviously not searching correctly) is a physical unit that extends the range of a remote. Thanks

First of all, this isn't really an off-topic point to discuss. Next time put it in general hardware or wherever you think it'll be more relevant, because the OT threads don't show up on the front page.
Now to the point: I think that most IR sensors are simple 2-lead things - if you aren't extending it too far you should be able to just splice a wire between the sensor and wherever it connects to the circuit board.
Old plans out the window because of an accident .
