dual 17" monitors or single 20.1" widescreen?

Ok i need to decide between getting dual 17" monitors or a 20.1" dell widescreen. I started doing a vhs to dvd service around my area and i've been pretty busy so it's time to upgrade. getting ready to order another gig of ram, a 6600 or 6800gt, and a 250 or 320 gig hard drive. now need to decide on the monitors. what would you guys rather have for video editing? Is it even worth it or should i stick with 1 17"? (prolly wont tho) Thanks for your opinions

honestly.. I would pick the lcd.. the are MUCH nicer on the eyes.. I do video productiona nd love my 17" laptop .. widescreen.. 1900x1200. but now that is the other thing to consider.. si screen space a big deal to you?.. what is the max res of the dell. physical size plays second fiddle to true resolution in my book.. especially for media creation types.

now keep in mind I came from using 2 19" monitors @ 1600x1200 each . I loved the screen space, but I've found I cna do just as much on a nice wide screen, and LCD's hold better color, and don't flicker.. actually I used to run 5 monitors sometimes.. but 2 big ones.. then other little ones for winamp, IRC, etc ..

well my vote is for the LCD if the res is something like 1780x1152 or more, if it's 1440x900 the pixels are gonna be big, but the lcd will hold it's value better.. no one wants CRTs anymore.. and I now know why.. I'm an LCD junky, and love my laptop. (Sony VGN A290)

cool it sounds like most of you would rather have dual 17" lcd's. More than likely that's what i will be getting. I do little gaming but do games work with dual monitor setups?

Get the Dell 24" widescreen. It's the proper aspect ratio. The 20.1 does not support proper widescreen ratios or HDCP. I've been looking into this myself.

Definitely go with the dual displays. You'll be much more efficient. When your video editing stuff is fullscreen you can check your mail or whatever on the other and still keep an eye on teh video app, for example.

for gaming go with the 20 inch, for editing and general computing dual screens are very nice.
