1996 Cheverolet Impala SS

Odometer Reads:
137,777 Miles (too bad that isn't a slot machine)

Purchase Price:
$6,800 USD

Fixed Problems:

• A/C Blower Motor replaced
• Radiator replaced
• Bald Tires replaced
• Crank Case Ventalation pipe replaced
• Two tail light bulbs, two head light bulbs, and one side corner marker bulb replaced
• Resoldered some resisters that allow the odometer display to work

Remaining Problems:

• Small oil leak somewhere
• Intermittant squeak under the hood
• Some other squeak from somewhere else
• External rattle
• Parking brake mechanism keeps falling apart
• Dents and scratches (nothing big... but I still don't like them)
• Tires are the wrong size... cause I was too cheap to buy the right size/speed rated tires

What have you bought for it? (exclude carputer)

• All the parts outlined in the "Fixed problems" section
• Many quarts of oil
• Many oil filters

These next few were not bought by me... they all happened to be stuff I already had or were CHristmas/birthday gifts

• Sequential tail lights (like in my avatar... except my avatar is my old car...but it also had blink blinks, so I made a video of it)
• JVC Head Unit, Pioneer speakers. Better than stock audio system... just there until the car puter is complete.
• Personalized Lisence Plate

Future Plans:

• Body/Paint work (just repairing what it has now, no new colors or graphics or anything like that)
• Smoothie bumpers
• Alot more muscle
• A beefier drive train, assuming that the "alot more muscle" is succesfful
• The car puter!

Why did you buy it?

• Good looking
• More horses than the last car

What do you like the most about your car?

• Good looking
• Decent get-up-and-go for a (basically stock) 4500 pound car
• Decent handling for a 4500 pound car
• Despite the fact that it's basically a caprice, it's still a favorite of many car people... and thus they drool... and I like it when people drool over my car, as long as they don't literally drool over my car.

What do you dislike about your car?

• The stuff that's needs to be fixed
• It's heavy...
• It still gets smoked by blown 4-bangers

Why did you buy it?
- Traded my old jeep for this repossessed one. Through my uncle.


What do you like the most about your car?
- Very reliable, never breaks down
- Space in the back is fantastic, TONS of room, all covered too.
- Power locks/Windows
- Leather Seats (only hate them when I first step into car, very hot from sun)

What do you dislike about your car?
- Fuel Efficiency is in the gutter. My Piaggio and DRZ-400S are wayyy better in that sense, but not much room in the back. Cruise this beast around town with friends, and haul junk around. Fun to drive though.
- No sun roof
