They called today. That's always a particularly frightening call to get--"This is Special Agent So and So from the FBI, can I please speak with (insert name here)?"

I'll be taking the pre-employment screening test in the next 2 months or so.

And could you help a brother out and like delete all those piracy records that may or may not be on there? There's probably 10,000 counts on my name, give or take.

how does one get into the fbi? And if you do get in there, you gonna lose your identity?

You submit an application. If they like what they see then they call you (this is the point I am at). Then you take a personality test. If you "pass" that, then there are about 9,284 forms to fill out. They perform a cursory background investigation, and if you "pass" that you get an interview. If you "pass" that, then they do a full background check. They talk to everyone who was ever your neighbor, boss, co-worker, teacher, or roommate. If you "pass" that, then you take a polygraph. At some point you have to pass a physical. Then, if by some act of God you've gotten that far, it goes to Washington for review. When there are enough "suitable" applicants, there is a class at the FBI Academy at Quantico, VA. Of every 200 or so people that submit an application, only about 4 wind up at Quantico. The process can take anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, after you pass the personality test.

No, that's the CIA or Diplomatic Security (both of which, incidentally, I also applied for)

I did personality test, background check, and polygraph for the NSA, but timing on the actual job didnt work out. Most stressful 2 days of my life, and I didnt even have anything to hide.
