I use a tank of Shell Optimax every 5 tanks and do notice it. I have tried injector cleaners and last time i used one i think it actually disolved some of the dirt around a leaky filler neck so the next morning I found a puddle of fuel under my car!

this is worse than my car problems.

it idled fine, with nothing happening. nothing happening as in radio is off, headlights are off, AC off, etc.

now, when i turned the ac on, idle dropped from say 700 or so to oh lets just give it the benifit of the doubt and say 400. btw, i need new engine mounts. so 400 rpm + bad engine mounts = the right side of the dash popping up because of the vibrations, and my g/f having an orgasm in the front seat with out anyone touching her.

it got so bad that i was on my way home from school, got stuck in traffic on the freeway, with the ac on, my car died. so i took her home, poped off the idle air control valve, and it was NASTY! like human waste nasty.

i used half a can of brake cleaner to clean her out, and now she runs like a champ, through 110 degree weather, ac on 99% of the time, and pushin out power for my carpc.

on to your topic, they most likely damaged the fuel injectors. their "high pressure" most likely blew the crap out of the injectors, causing spuratic delivery of very large amounts of fuel.

you know....thats really wierd. I went to the place that I always go to get my oil change. They recommened the same thing. I decided to do it, because i got out of the car, and the guy showed me exactly where the buildup was.

When I was getting the service done the guys said 2 things to me. First he said "this will usually put the check engine light on....i'll just reset the ECU as soon as it does that". Sure enough the check engine light went on. He reset the ECU and all was fine. Secondly he said "For a couple of hours the car may stutter a little bit, or idle hard......just drive it out.....after driving about 20 miles it'll stop....if it doesnt....bring it back here". But i only noticed it idle hard while the service was being done, and maybe a half mile afterwards.

@ peoples - I have driven the car a couple of hundert miles, no luck with it self cleaning.

@ Quattro - ya, 85K I used to commute 100 miles a day. The miles rack up quick when you live in the subburbs

@ seanz0rz - ya the fuel injectors are deffinately a possibility, will know more when the Nissaan dealer finally fixes there diagnosis computer (still waiting)

Luckly my GF's father loaned me his car, leaving tomorrow to go on vacation, hopefully it will be fixed when I come back. I rented a van (all the rental place had) the last couple of days and it cost me $40 dollars in gas for 2 days
