Yeah well i still dont even know why we went to iraq. More worried about N. Korea then i ever was about iraq. And we shoulda finished up in Afgan instead of jumping a few countries over and going to mess with iraq. Not that it was a bad thing to go free some ppl, but there are lots of other countries that we are not helping at all. And really i woulda much rather put the money into our dying space program then a war that we really didnt need. We already got a country over there and didnt need iraq. Thats where the "bad bush" thing comes from.
And going to mars, it would just be nice to watch it on tv since i was a bit late for the moon, and if we dont start soon, probably wont make it in my life time. I like to see America and Americans doing things that are great. I see more impact going to Mars then fighting over oil or spending money on something shorted lived.

We went to Iraq because we had intelligence (our and from our allies (if you can call Russia that)) that said that he was developing weapons, or that he was a thread. Lets see, your own intelligence agency is telling you that he's developing WMD, and so are your allies... what do you do? Wait till he finishes them and sends them on their way?

I think the war in Iraq is a hard issue. Personally whether he had WMDs or not, and whether we thought he did or not, doesn't matter. He didn't like us, and he was/is a complete nutcase. In which case he should have been removed and that been the end of it. If we wanted to make sure a new Saddam didnt just take power, we could have supported one of the "groups" there, I wish I remember the name, it was one of the smaller but in the top 5 I think.

Basically still would have created a facist islam regime, but the key difference is this group deplores torture and inhumane acts etc. We could have put them in power probably pretty easily and avoided this conflict.

Frankly I dont even know why we argued so hard he had WMDs, and frankly dont know why we still say he didn't. Even the NY Times reported about a ton of uranium yellow cake or such being removed, which is used in only one thing, WMD production, we knew he had them before, used them, and basically Sadam got high and mighty thinking he could push everyone around since the UN clearly didnt stand up to its demands and threats.

Also stories I hear from marine friends deployed confirm WMDs, things like SCUD missles which the UN declares a WMD. Frankly the only reason I could see for covering this up is the possibility we sold the weapons to Saddam a long time ago and dont want that info to get out. Not sure, again dont think it really matters. Anyway I look at it we shouldnt have gotten as involved as we have, while good has come out of it we should have waited till we could get *FULLY* dedicated etc. While the constitution is impressive for the area and such, its basically still a tyrannical regime. Every freedom is basically outlined as you have this freedom, but the government controls the freedom.

One thing about N Korea, that has come to light especially lately I think. Kim Jon is hardly a good guy, but he after all doesnt appear to be a complete nut. He realizes he has something to lose, and on top of that doesn't want to lose it. Saddam seemed to put little to no thought into his actions. While Kim isn't nice to his people, the fact remains he is willing to negotiate, something Saddam never would have "lowered" himself to.

Oh and if we really want to blame someone for Iraq, the more and more I see and learn it seems the guy to call on it is Colin Powell. Sure it was up to Bush/Congress in the end, but Colin is the one who sold Bush on it pretty much.

I guess(I dont know) the black people in new orleans are more poor than the whitw , so their mentality is maybe not the same on looting.
Just to make you feel better CNN has updated their footage and it now includes WHITE people looting.

I understand people looting for basic needs, but some of the stores I saw people looting made no sense.

On the other than we all know that these businesses will claim a loss on everything. Then some will turn around and resell.

IMHO the national guard should have been moved in a lot sooner.

If you recall, both Osama and Saddam threatened Bush when he went into office, holding his father accountable for those 2000+ innocent Muslim deaths as if he gave the order or some BS, so when these stupid eye for an eye mentality terrorists attacked, who else would we pont the finger at? There was no doubt that it was one or the other, or both, but Osama is the one that if we kill 10 of his people, they have always beheaded 10 of ours and recorded it on video. He was my first choice, and still needs to be captured or killed.

I think something big is going down, credible reports say Osama will be finding his way to Iraq towards the end of this month. Now the odd thing is this seems retarded... we could probably in a matter of days lock down the entire country, especially when we are talking Osama here we can get some help, and it just seems odd. But the reports are credible. I can't help but wonder if Zarqawi has some alterior motives, sure Osama in Iraq will boost the morale of the foreign fighters but if he dies Zarqawi would probably take control of Al-Qaeda.
