Okay, got more numbers for you guys. I'm calculating based on miles per tank because those are the only numbers that I have history for. I don't really have any MPG calculated for the van from before. So on tank 2 of 2 for the acetone mix, I got 382.7 miles, and then went back to straight gasoline mix, and got 381.3 miles. Keeping in mind that two tanks for me is about the same as six tanks for anybody with a decent car (i.e. 11 gallon tank instead of 32 gallon), I may yet try the 1 oz./10 gal. mixture ratio, but since I haven't seen any improvement whatsoever, I may just cancel the experiment entirely. I'm wondering if perhaps the make and/or model of the car has anything to do with the increase you get from the acetone mixture. Do imports get a bigger boost than domestics, perhaps? Will post new info as I get it. And I'll update the summary from my first post as well.

But if you get a boost in performance, this could be an alterative octane booster...

Just bear in mind the effect of acetone to rubber/plastic and such in exchange of something thats not even noticeable.

Ill risk it if theres something really worth in returns though.

Still getting about the same, and I'm with the guys that say a small increase in performance is not worth having to replace all the o-rings and seals anywhere along the fuel line. I'll probably try the 1 oz./10 gal. mixture for 2 tanks, but if that doesn't show any noticeable improvement, the experiment is over as far as I am concerned.

Why exactly would you have to do that ?? It's extremely diluted (2 parts per 1000)...

Because it will "eventually" destroy something along the line. But honestly would you risk it for an extra 1mpg more? Having to bother to buy it from a shop, measure the amount and then put it in the tank for a sake of 1bhp? Ill rather invest in sticking an exhaust/air filter/sparks.

If im getting 10mpg more and get like 10bhp, then yeah its worth risking. If something break then changing/threating all rubber/plastic is going to be a good move. I was only bothering with oil as fuel because Im buying the oils at 1/3rd of the diesel price.

It is an interesting experiment but Ill certainly wont carry on with that kind of results persistently. However Ill carry on reading, maybe the engine needs adjustments? maybe the mixture is wrong? I just found another forum about it, Ill read up and post their conclusion

This is proably the wrong spot, but since I dropped a FIPK in my jeep I've getting 2.5 MPG better, total suprize there. While not much, its a nice suprize. I think their OEM-drop in filter would give the same results.
