Try to tighten the hand brake cable a little bit. Not too much as your wheels could get stuck.
I have to pull my e-brake all the way up before it will even do anything. Is it simple to adjust the e-brake so that it will engage much sooner, or do I have to replace a part because it's worn out?

Sorry for the ignorance, but is that near the e-brake handle, or is it in the back on my discs?

if you look under the vehicle, you'll most likely see a cable hanging kinda low, from the front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle. that would be the parking brake cable.
you should be able to get a cheap tightening kit at pretty much any auto parts place.
At Walmart maybe?Originally Posted by tj!2k4

Uh oh, there's a problem. Not all cars have tightning bolts, especially rear wheel drive, disc brake cars like mine. They may have to take my brake shoe apart and replace a spring or something. I have a guy at my local F-body shop taking a look to see if there's a way to adjust it.
Lol, I tried to use my stupid psychology on the guy at some tire shop one the way to school. I was just like, "hey, can you tighten my e-brake real quick." (so maybe he'll think it's an easy job or something). Didn't work though, he was like, "No, we are going to have to take apart the brake system."
brake shoe on a disc brake setup... wtf are you on about, lol.. and e-brake ? whats that short for..??
Its either a handbrake (operates by hand) or parking brake.. wouldnt want e to stand for emergency anywho cause if it did then i feel gutted for all those trying to use it to stop in an emergency, lol
Brake shoe on a Disc brake setup... You never see one of those? Yup Andy is right, there is such a set up exist. My Supra is like that, RWD, Rear Disc. The Rear disc is NOT the same as the front Disc. The disc is build on top of a small/tiny drum.Originally Posted by Skuzzle
BTW, I don't think the shoe is worn out unless you are really use it a lot for emergency braking (thus e-brake). There are 3 ways you can adjust the e-brake. By the handle (adjust like bicycle hand brake), under the car by the differential (by the kit they are talking about), and at the drum (by using a small flat head screw driver and ticking it).
