Dayum. Even I would get one of these, and I despise portable music.

Neuros' hardware design is complete, comprising a Texas Instruments dual-core digital signal processor, a 3.6-inch, 65,000-color TFT display and a 40-GB hard drive for recording video from a TV or home entertainment system.
Audio Rockford Fosgate: 900 Watt 4-channel amp, 501bd Mono amp
Computer AMD 2400+ XP, 1 GB DDR RAM, Orbit Micro 250W DC-DC PSU

    Head units are for cheaters!

I bought one of these back in Aug '04 - I believe the o/s is some form of linux, although I've never been able to hack into it. It can record DVDs directly, or you can drop DIVX avis onto it. It even has a cable tuner in the docking station. I have to say the idea hardly seem new.

The idea is open source, not recording video. They've released the firmware code for it.

Hmm depends what you call open source. I believe (read: could well be wrong ) that my device which was built May '04 has linux type o/s, which I would term open source.
This is slightly different but hopefully illustrates the point I'm trying to make.

I guess that because NJH haven't released the o/s it isn't open source. Fair play.
