That's ridiculous. Governments need to learn the lowering the speed limit is not the solution. Training better drivers is.
How gay is this hey, im not sure if its just perth or all australia but for built up areas, it is now 50 not 60 (4 weeks to adjust)!!

It's gonna be a real cash cow for the gov't., collecting more $$ in speeding fines...

yeah no **** theres twice as many cops as there used to be like 2 years ago and 3 times as much "train security" they just sit at train staion doing **** all and check every train. government realise more ppl they employee the more money they make from fines and decrease the unemployement levels at same time.
i only got my licence beginning of this year but i can say some ppl whom just got there licence are complete psychos (cant think how to spell properly) and just think there the **** weaving in and otu through trafic, cant believe they get there licence
melbourne has had this for over a year now, and in the area i live it has been going for nearly two years with our area being one of the trial areas.
The thing that really sucks is that with my area being a little bit hilly, it is hard to keep to 50kmph whilst trying to climb a hill, espically in my 4cylinder....
Project - GAME OVER :(
yeah its been 50 in almost all the suburbs around Newcastle for a fair while(going on a year at least). So I dunno why they are doing it in perth if it hasnt worked in NSW ,. the road death capital of aust.
to keep those freaking mad "mother's" from rioting that only drive to drop and pick up their kids from school. heh
seen one u seen em all, so easy to stereotype em

Well here (dunno about other states) we have 40kph (24mph) zones around schools.
so those mad mothers should be happy with that.
All of victoria has the 50km/h in built up areas, not good, as i live in adelaide (still 60, except my area is 40!!) when i go back to Mildura, its 50, and takes a while to get used to, lucky i haven't been pinged yet![]()
Its a rediculous idea i believe, the need harsher licening testing, and maybe frequent licencing testing.
