....are you serious?
a ferrari or lamborghini or even a porche wouldnt dare to touch nitrous. all fine tuned and geared out...blah blah blah
lightweight-high horsepower : : heavy-high displacement
maybe, but back in the day I would have gladly taken the old 425 hp 426 ci (7.4L) Hemi over any blown, boosted, ****ed in whatever tiny motor the brit's endorse!Originally Posted by Escalade182
there's no replacement for displacement. I want power when I stomp the pedal, not after a huffer spools up, or I hit xxx rpm and give the intake a snort of laughing gas!

yes I am very serious. Why the hell would you want some delicate pansy motor that requires not only frequent and costly tunes, but is so damn fininky, that 10% humidity or 20 degrees in air temp change requires a complete re-tune?Originally Posted by Escalade182
Not too mention the fact that in order to even service one of those motors you need about 25k worth of speciality tools, and a damn Master's Degree in auto babble just to understand those engines.
Now take any good old fashioned hunk of Detroit Iron... any Joe Shoe with a basic set of tools from Craftsman and enough know how to change oil can keep a big block running. Not to mention that you can buy parts a lot easier and cheaper than Ferrari or Lambo. When was the last time you saw a timing chain or valve seals at the corner auto parts store?
Your right about the Prowler and the Bug so Dodge (Plymouth) still gets it at 1997 vs 1998.Originally Posted by Motorcity

I'm with you on retro styling. The majority of my favorite cars are 60s rides (Though more than a few 50s rides would make it on that list).
whens the last time you saw a stock 1970 mustang drive 200+? they're called super-cars for a reason, not just because they're expensive.
its all opinion.
DAMN THATS SO HOT! its like 70's retro! even the seats are like ugly vinal 70's..but it looks like nice leather...but as ugfly as the seats are with the 70's ribbed texture..i love the interior! i love the gauges! i LOVE the body. i want one.
THAT was how the charger remake SHOULD have looked. vintage. not like a 300/Magnum cross breed. ugh.
your are right, sir. It is all opinion. And you know what they say about opinions.Originally Posted by Escalade182
You have a point about the speed thing you reference. However..........how many 200+mph supercars have you owned, or even seen roaming your nieghborhood? At least a stock 70 stang is somewhat affordable and a hell of a lot cheaper to add go-fast goodies to!
I'm not trying to get into a ****ing contest with you, just ranting away.....
Amen. I'll gladly take a pristine 67 goat drop top over any current domestic ride.Originally Posted by shotgunefx
