I got one for my g/f off of pricewatch. 15$

Cheap stamped metal, a discolored plastic front panel, perfect!

I was going to paint it and she doesn't bother with taking the door off to do anything so as long as everything fit together it was fine.

That built one... ~15" Cube? Looks good. I was going to do a 18" Cube out of Al, square tube and angles and decided it was too expensive.

Was going to be ~100$ before I even put it together.

It's not the format that sucks - it's that everyone is doing it differently!
Now the metric system rocks. The calendar should be base-10, too!

Make your case out of Polymethyl Methacrylate. I've made at least three cases using the stuff! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plexi-glass
