Its a 97' sedan with 39,000 miles... I took it to vegas this weekend and must say this is sooooooo much more than just a car! All I can say is it will do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, does a 1/4 mile in 14.4 sec, can carry 4 adults and a trunk full of grocerys and got 27 mpg all the way to vegas.... Much more than just a car! Anyway, if you want to see her, just go here!My new car

Well I was just commenting reagadring this line. Its amazing what people need in life to get happy.
I personally look at the cars from different point of view... i dont see the point of paying 10000's of $$ for a car when only thing you gona do with it is drive it.
Let me give you an example...
Thats M3 of yours let say you paid at least US$50,000 and it does it those wonderful things... Which is fair enough... on the other hand many people including me would think otherwise.
I paid AU$3500 (US$1700) for the car im driving and i couldnt tell the difference between how you described yours compared to mine.
0-100km/H doing at low 6s ( I dont know about the 1/4 mile I guess high 13s), can carry 5 adults including the driver and have a trunk full of grocerys using as much as 8L/100Km in the city and alot less on a freeway... and its as beautiful as any other sport car. And that not even looking at what inside the car itself
So it seem like we both driving a car with around a same spec and only thing that is different is the badge and the price !

Yeah i know, i know ...its a different class im sure one day i will look at it differently and endup driving something of that class... but im sure its not going to be the greatest day of my life

Let me say if you never driven a BMW you just don't know what you are missing. If you can rent one for a day or weekend and you will see why people rave over them. Yes there are cars out there that drive nice some even better than BMWs.

Congrats Mike its a very nice car enjoy it and if you don't already know about head over to www.bimmer.org for mass message boards of BMW people

A car is never just a car. I guess it just depends on your interests. I can't think of enough good things to say about my RX-7, but have to strain to come up with something negative. Driving the RX-7 is a completely different experience from any other car on the road. The handling is unreal, and you wouldn't believe how the engine comes to life after 5K. I'm smiling right now thinking of driving the 401 (big freeway in Ontario) and just flying past people in 3rd gear with the engine screaming at 8500RPM...

There is one statement I am curious about though:

It must be something special to only be pulling six second 0-100kph times yet achieve a sub 13 sec quater mile... I am not going to get into the "who has the best car" discusion... I drove a honda civic for 6 years to be able to purchase this car... I didnt spend $50,000 for it (of course) and I am not going to feel bad about spending what I did to drive the car I have been dreaming of since 1995... As for the happiest day of my life... It was up there, of course my original post was the day I just bought this car so emotion was running high...

Sounds like people talking about miata's on miata.net, except they are considerably slower, and at 8500, i'd be picking bearings out of the oil pan.

I'm so looking forward to it.. Driving is one of my favorite things. I never mind driving unless I'm tired or drinking. Esp the twisties!!

Music and Computers are right up there with driving, which explains the mp3 player thing. heheh.

I dont think you get them there in states, its a Ford Laser TX3 Turbo KE. Closest thing you get there in States is Mazda GTI Familia (I think its called), they both have the same engine.
The Engine is 1.6L TwinCam 16Valve Turbo running at 8.7Psi as standard. From the factory, the engine produces 105Kw of power @ 5100 RPMs. However the same engine with the same components produces 130Kw of power with Jap imported ECU.
The engine can handle boost increase of up to 12Psi without any modification and up to 14-15PSi with biger injectors and Imported ECU. This increases the power to around 180 and even over 200Kw in some cases.
The car itself is pretty light its bearly a tonn.
The same model cars come as a 4WD however they reasonbly slower then FWD but they handle like a dream.
Here in Ozy land they call those cars a Pocket Rockets and its pretty common even for cars like WRXs and Lancers be beaten by TX3s.
