installing win2k upgrade...
can i do a clean install of win2k pro with only the upgrade cd? if not what would i need?

I'm just guessing here, but based on previous experience with Win95/98, you would need a Win95 or Win98 CD. You will have to partition and format the drive yourself (make it FAT, and then you can decide wether to convert it to FAT32 or NTFS), then run the install from the Win2K CD. At some point, it will ask you to verify your product, at which point you can insert the Win9X CD.

Win2000 setup has built-in FDISKing and Formating utilities. I would recomend formating beforehand anyways.
All that you need is a full version of win95,98, or NT (win 3.x disketts dont work). Win2k setup will prompt you to enter a previous full version of windows. Then you are all set. But you dont need the FULL VERSION of win2k as long as you have a a previous full version of windows. Need one?
