Hey guys. Yesturday my Epson C86 stopped working after I changed its black ink cartridge. It totally stopooed printing in black and white. The cartridge was new and genuine epson, so I don't see why it would have caused the problem.
Anyone know of a way to fix this?
BTW: My c80 died practically the same way. I replaced a color and the B&W stopped working.
check the contacts on the chips ....
Which ones? I mean I plug in the cartridge normally.Originally Posted by Gobby
Try cleaning the heads.
Use distilled water to clean the heads...
That's what I do on all of our HP Deskjet/OfficeJet printers that have cartridge issues. Usually fixes the problem...

yeah, your printhead is clogged. Gay. It's a real common problem. Check this out: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/31764
You could get a new printhead... but seein how the printers cost about $100, and a new printhead will cost ya about $90 to $120, get a new printer.
This time, get an HP. Forget printers with separate ink tanks, just something else to go wrong. With HP, you get a new head with every ink cartridge! Whohoo!!
Depends on the printer.....Originally Posted by Tidder

Alright, let's not get techincal. I was thinking printers in the same class as his. I know there are the professional printers that come with ink tanks, and of course the designjets have separate ink tanks... but c'mon. a deskjet? Or even a photosmart...Originally Posted by Rafster
