I've seen episodes of cops where a police officer gave a ticket to a guy who parked in a handy cap spot at a motorcycle shop. The owner of the place came out cursing and screaming at the cop trying to say that it was alright because he knew the guy. The cop said that because it was commercial property and he did not have handycap tags that the guy was breaking the law. I'd be suprised if they aired that if the cop was full of crap. I don't recall, but I think they might have ended up arresting the owner for disorderly conduct, I think he started to flip out on the cop, maybe swung at him.
Haven't seen that one, but I've seen the one where the guy gets dared to go flip off a cop, and the cop proceeds to beat the livin **** outta the guy after he does it.

Everybody here seems to be talking about laws and all, well, generally the police can do whatever they want. If you have an issue with what they do or did, you'll have to file a complaint for what I'm sure will be a loosing battle, a battle that will involve lots of time, probably money, and maybe your business.
One post had it here, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. The best thing to do is to become friends with the cops, by whatever means possible...like buying them donuts I have yet to meet a cop that is unreasonable, (I'm sure many are out there) They are driven alot by a persons attitude, kingtuts' attitude seems to be against the "*******" cops....WRONG! "I fought the law and the law one". You are fighting a loosing battle.
Put signs out front of your shop, AND verbally request your customers to keep the noise and speed down. (It'll look good to the cops too)
Also put the shoe on the other foot, I'd be ****ed if I had several cars daily racing or being noisy down my street, if they are too noisy...they're hauling ***.
