I've heard of people getting into that Motorola box through firewire, but on some they don't have it or the USB enabled so it's not a sure thing you can do anything. Recording directly to the PC is much easier.
do you have any more info on this? I'd like to check it at least!

What if your DVR Box only has an RJ-11 connector (phone jack) and a so-called "Expension Port" (see pics below)?
Is there a way to hook up to that with a PC/Laptop/Some sort of reader?
I mean, asides from the running of RCAs or S-Video solution...

Newsflash: Take a look at my unsold stuff above, thanks!

    Red:
The Comcast DVRs are MS-TV boxes and they suck balls.
As far as I know there is no way to pull a recording off one, unlike TiVo.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

maybe I'll have to use some connections and get the TiVo....

now I've heard that there are different versions, some old and some new versions, and that some are better than others...anyone have any ideas?

    here's some more info: http://www.hdbeat.com/2006/02/01/doe...firewire-port/

apparently, in the US, if you ask your TV provider for a set-top box with a firewire port they MUST provide one for you.
