anyone know of software i can download to take...10 second clips from dvd's with?
have a film study class and Im doing a report on "modern comedy" and i think a cool...4-5 minute video with windows movie maker explaining what makes a modern comedy, a modern comedy. (i.e. 'the crazy person' - will ferral in zoolander, will ferral in wedding crashers....'the idiot' ...ben stiller in zoolander...and so on)
so once again. anyone know of free software i can download that will let me record...decent quality 10 second clips from dvds?

so...i can put a dvd in the drive....and can just record/save/convert short segments of the movies?
yup
edit u might need to use TMPGEnc to convert it a second time if ur gonna use premiere to edit tho i dont think premiere plays nice with the mpgs created with it

im getting all errors, nothings working. any tips?
errors when u try to run the program. no not really it worked for me ok out of the box :-/

i got zoolander to work, i guess 40 year old virgins secured or something...oh well...
how do i convert it to mpg/avi?
take the vob file it creates and rename it mpg see if it imports into your editing program if it doesnt use TMPGEnc to save it as a mpg then it should import no matter what

where would the VOB file be? sorry, im a software noob.
