    It's a sludge trap, and it appears that either you do a lot of short jorneys, you've not used it in a while or you have a leaking head gasket.

    Leaky head gasket would be my guess too. I had one of them RR's and the gaskets were a PITA

    No, gaskets were done at 88k. Condensation when the engine cools, as there's nothing on the dipstick. And yes, over the last year only to dads' and back. When it's tested, I'll be giving it a good clouting

    you have a stuck PCV valve. Should be located in the top of one of the valve covers. Will have a large diameter vacuum hose. Pull it out and suck/blow through it. If you can't feel air moving, or feels restricted, replace it. About a 5.00 part.

    EDTT: PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation

    Looksr fairly typical of a vehicle that is only used For short trips. I'd test the PCV valve before you replace it because some can be very expensive. If it is the typical valve then you should only be Able to suck through it one way.
