it sure looks like a scam. do tell him that you will not ship anything until the money is in your hand. contrary to what all of the people here are saying, not all WU transactions or attempts of paying are fraudulent. I come from a country where paypal does not allow people to sign up and where fraud is high. The only payment options that would work are credit card, bank transfer and western union.people can t accept credit card directly without somekind of processor like paypal, bank account and western union require me sending the money first and hopeing the seller does not pull a fast one on me. doing it through the bank to would mean a charge of 40-50$ for the international wire, western union would cost less and is instant up to a certain amount where the charges will be higher than sending through the bank so that s why people try to pay through WU. It is really common sense to see what looks like a scam and what looks not. The deal above really looks like a scam. In deals like this there is really no other way to go about it than the buyer sending the money in good faith that the seller will provide. the uk guy in no way has a reason not to use paypal. I hope all the info above will help people not consider everything like a scam because they don t fully understand.

Yup. Maybe he can't open a Paypal or bank account. Tell him fine, send the cash via Western Union, go down to the appropiate branch and the moment they give you the cash, you send the item.
Your amp, your way. However much you want to sell this item, you don't want to give it away.

Currently using his "method", he'll get you to send the amp and promises to tell you when to pick the money up... I don't think so.

Western Union isn't a scam, it's just he's using their name in one.

For those who think western union is a scam? Please explain

I have used it many times to send/receive money without a glitch (with common sense applied)

Whatever is the payment method, common sense should be applied. Bank transfer, paypal, western union, cheque, or even cash payment. If the money is not on your hand then dont send the good, its that simple really.

Anything can turn out to be a scam if you dont use common sense.

As for th payment,my only method of payment is via WESTERN UNION PAYMENT,i use this payment because this is one of the most fastest way of sending money in order to avoid scam and fraudulent act, once they approve payment, its sure that the seller or whoever thats involved will definately receive the money order and thats why it takes them hours to approve after payment.Immediatly payment is made an approval letter will be sent to you from western union,i will like to ship the item through my Fedex account. As for your money,as soon as you recieved a confirmation letter from the bank, get intouch with me with the lbs of the item so i will schedule for a pick up and send the shipping document to you,so you will send the tracking number to the bank for verification so that your money will be release asap.

    Does this sound safe?
Western is the fastest way but the most expensive way too.
Send the money without using his name etc. in the transaction. They will give you a confirmation code (12-16 digits) anyone can get the money with this code. He says that he is going to send you a confirmation about the Fedex account. Once you have the document call the fedex. Request a confirmation about the account and owner. If they confirm the delivery send him the code. Still one thing may go wrong after that point. He can put rubbish in the package. Say him it's ok and wait for the document, call the fedex, ... but don't pay him till you get the thing. Pay him after the delivery.
One more suspicous thing. Fedex has pay-at-door system for the account holders, fast, free and clean. Why not? ask him. Check the website and see money transaction rates.

omg i tought you were the buyer. No it can't be scam. If he sends the money you will put it in your pocket after 30min. just with your name surname and the code. btw while i was writing this someone sent me a warning like "he is not a buyer, etc..." wow so fast response.
