    Isuzu Rodeo?

    Anyone have experience with one?

I wanted the Honda Passport, but Squeezer recommended the Rodeo because it was the exact same (he said parts and everything, is this true?), but was priced Lower.
I am looking at about a 1994 4-door Isuzu Rodeo, It looked like it would cost me about 6 grand on autotrader.
Anyone have one of these type cars?

If I get a 4 year loan (Yeah, I'm a poor high School student), and then goto college, can I transfer the rest of the loan over to my college loan?

How Much should I put down on the loan?
I'm trying to sell my Lincoln Continental right now, and will probably use either the money from that, or about 500$ from work.

I have yet to get a job, but I went in for an interview at a furniture store last friday, and the guy is calling me today. How long do you generally have to have a stable job to get a loan?

I'm 16, will my parents/co-signers credit rub off on me, or in other words, should I get someone with good credit to co-sign for me?

    Thanks

    Rodeo = GOOD

I love Rodeos. I like Troopers even better cause they have more room and you can fit a 3rd seat for 2 more people....

And yes the Rodeo and Passport are identicle.
Also the Trooper and Acura "Something or Other" are also Identicle.

If it were me I would try to get the loan without a cosigner. It would force you to be responsible and besides that I would have a hard time co-signing for anyone else. (my opinion)

If the banks wont let you get it without someone to co-sign then ask them.

BTW - Rodeo starters are SO hard to get in and out! Took me quite a while!

    Question How much down payment?

It depends on your interest rate. If you can get a nice low rate ie 3% then you dont have to put down much. But if you get a Credit Card rate of 17%. Put down as much as you can.

But still...are you serious about getting a loan for a car and you are in high school? You better find one steady job...but at the same time, i think it would be more beneficial for you to buy a car with the money you have now...go to school get good grades...get a good job when you get OUT of school...then buy any car you want. Something tells me if you are gonna owe $75+ a month..at $5.50 an hour you are gonna be working a whole lot. What is the point of a car if you have to work all day and never get to drive it. Save your pennies, buy what you can afford now. Loans are bad news! I do a little sharking on the side (you may have seen me on Judge Mathis ) ...and let me say...it is VERY easy to screw people over. You miss one payment and you "could" kiss that new rodeo goodbye.

Im not saying that you wont get a job or have a hard time of keeping one...but most highschool jobs pay very little AND are not very stable. What happens if you get in a wreck? Gotta fix that thing...where is that money gonna come from?

Dont mean to sound like MOM...but I've seen too many people DESTROY their credit because they couldnt pay on time because they lost their job, house burnt down (Im in detroit it happens), or the car gets stolen. Think a little down the road. You'll be in college before you know it...and you probably dont need a car there...buy a nice hoopty (spelling) for a grand or so. Put a little elbow grease into it...shine it up...and you'll have a ride sweeter than the new $30,000 SUVs your schoolmate's parents bought them. The back seats in the back of an old buick or lincoln is much more roomy and comfortable than any back seat in a SUV.

But do what you want and good luck...POBOY

Actually, I want to get a used Rodeo for about 5 grand, so its really not that much. My payments would be about 150$ a month with a 10% intrest rate. The job I may or may not get (I find out at the end of the week) pays about 7$ an hour, so I would be earning about 600$ a month. I'm gonna waite about 2 months with the job before I even think about a car.
I have already bought a little 1400$ piece of crap, I get ripped off...badly. Thats why I'm selling the crap.
If I can't get a loan, I'll work my *** off, and buy a car with cash for about 4 grand.

BTW most banks won't give loans out on used cars you would have to go with a car dealer. If you are in highschool you most likely would need a co signer. I recommend saving you cash and get a "cheap needs a little work car" until you get out of college. Hell mine was a 1980 Honda Accord **** brown with black primer on the hood and sides. Nice ride tho smooth and fast
