Thread: Any decent programs want to make some money??

So here is the thing. I work as the in house IT/Tech guy for a cab company in Florida. We also have a airport shuttle operation. They are running a piece of software from another company that is
1. way over kill for what we need
2. doesn't work correctly half the time
3. costs us a ton of money

What I need is something that can be run across a network/Internet connection. At the airport we have 4 booths only one of which holds a second computer for dispatching.

The program basics would be to enter "reservations" and generate a boarding pass out of a thermal printer. It then has to send the "reservation" info to the dispatch pc to be displayed as either waiting to go or waiting to be schedule if it is for more then 24 hours later.

The dispatch side then needs to be able to take any next day reservations and have the dispatch route drivers for next day pickups. reservations that are ready to be picked up right then (person gets off a plane and walks up to the booth) need to be able to be assigned to a specific driver.

Of course there are finer points to the whole thing but basically thats it.
The limited amount of programming knowledge I have, this doesn't seem as though it would be to hard of a project.

The reward could be a nice check and residual income for support/upgrades.

Once I have someone interested I will need to be in touch by phone etc to coordinate the finer points and get this together.

I would much rather see this project go to someone here then farm it out to a development house. At least this way maybe someone here can get something good for a portfolio and get a decent check to build there "ultimate" carputer........or a bunch of hookers for a night
