    Wireless Routers

    Hey whats up guys, I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. It is starting to really annoy me cuz Like every 20 or 30 mins the wireless connection is lost and has to search for it again, so basically i kicked off the internet everytime that happens, is there any solution to this?

    I hooked up a 12V fan to mine when it was acting up in summer of 2004. Never had a problem with it since.
    BTW, the fan is sitting atop of the router blowing air out of it.

    Maybe it keeps disconnecting because my modem is ontop of the router blocking the fan!

    I had that problem with SBC DSL, it would wig out every so often. It would even keep the connection, then not let anything through. This way, the hardware didn't see a disconnect, and I would be in the dark.

    I have since switched to true bandwidth ( well, dry DSL ), maybe thats an option.

    This is going on the assumption that the wireless aspect of your router is fine (unless you are out in the weeds with a laptop).

    I have (2) wireless routers (1) Netgear (1) Airlink and I leave them open to anyone (I live in the country )...

    try the fan if that doesnt work then try and turn off your turbo if you have it. If that doesnt work throw it out the window
