you should ba able to just pull the psu from the computer you are using now and test the setup. Unles you are on a laptop, or school/work/library unit.
What I am getting at is use a regular atx psu, and power your carpc up.

Use a regular ATX power supply, hook it up to a monitor and see that it boots up and everything works.
You're going to hate yourself if you wait until you've got all the rest of your vehicle PC parts and install in your car, only to find that you received dead hardware.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Hook it up to a 12V source...

    i.e. a car battery.

you have the shut down controller, right? connect that to a battery, connect the 90w ps to the sdc, and power that puppy up!

iirc, aren't the opus ps's supposed to have a built-in startup/shutdown controller? but there's no way i'm dragging a monitor out to my car, and no way i'm unbolting my car battery and bringing it in here.

Test it or don't. It's your choice. But always be prepared to live with the consequences of your choices.

I guess they do. I thought you had a morex 90 watt unit.
suit yourself re: testing. you did ask how to test. we told you, you don't want too. don't cry 3 months from now when you install a doa system.

upon further inspection, i have an m1-atx powersupply. 10A fuse on it. does it really matter how big or small of a regular ps i buy? or can i just go for the cheapest since pc's only draw needed power?
