It happened to my work place. The cleaners were cleaning the sprinkler valve on the ceiling with a broom or something, knocked something off the valve and set it off.

This happened during the night, the cleaners didnt tell the security guards, run and never came back, WTF.

Water went through from 3rd floor down to 2nd floor. About 70 new PC got damaged, I know cuse it was me who have to sort it all out the next day

hmm, I remember a time when I was living at my parents.

We were watching TV in the lounge, when I sort of noticed the carpet seemed a bit darker in some parts than others, at first put it down to the light through the windows casting shadows, I then realised that the dark area was getting bigger an in totally the wrong direction for the sunlight.

I got up walked to the dark area and . . .

    squelch squelch squelch.

Ok it was coming in through the door so out I went into the hall, same thing squelch squelch squelch, went into the dining room, still squeclh, reached the kitchen and saw water all over the floor (lino). The washing machine door rubber had decided it had had enough and had given up.

luckily the insurance paid for a new floor and carpets for all the rooms etc. Luckily enough it didn't get high enough to damage any furniture.

took ages to get rid of the musty smell though.
