Well, yesterday my mom, dad, and I came back from some chores we had to do in town @ like 2PM....
We came back, and I opened the front door because my parents were gtting stuff out of the car...
I walk in... and notice that the carpet on the way to the kitchen looks darker than usual....
I'm like WTF????
I walk to it, and I hear/feel "Squish..Squash..."
I then yell out..... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU********KKKKKKK!!!!"
It turns out that our water filter exploded while we were gone for the 4 hours.
Basically our whole downstairs is in ruins... it will probably cost @ least $7-10K to fix...
: sigh :

Fawk, thats alot of damage..
damn, that sucks. I know how it feels. my mom's h2o tank burst last year, and the water ran for about 7 hours before she got home from work. Insurance covered most of it, but I lost about 2500 worth of stuff I had stored there, and mom lost items that money just can't replace.
good luck with the clean up. I hope your insurance company won't try and go cheap on you w/cleanup.
The compnay that came out to my mom's was great. They dried everything, deodorized, and did whatever they do to prevent mold/mildew. It worked, as there have been no mold issues down there.
Good luck!
rent one of those big de-humidifiers. There huge with a multi-gallon tank.
They can suck gallons out of the air overnight.
Once you get an area de-watered, close it off with one of these and it gets the water out of walls and floorboards etc ...
Sh1t, that sucks mate, my condolences
Thanks for the nice thoughts.....
Yeah, insurance called up some company...
We have like 4 dehumidifires over here and like 8 huge *** fans moving air around...
It sounds like a freakin war area over here....
Peace,
Rafster
